No Mantel? 5 Alternative Places to Hang Your Christmas Stockings
Christmas stockings play an integral part in the holiday season. Whether you’re a Santa believer or not, Christmas stockings have been a long part of Christmas tradition – as early as the 1800s. They come in all different sizes, colors, and patterns and are used to hide smaller presents or even black coal! If you don’t have a mantel to hang your Christmas stockings this year, here are 5 alternative places to hang your stockings.
Window Frame
If you live in the city and you don’t have a fireplace mantel, hang your Christmas stockings on a window frame. It’s also a great way to add holiday decorations on your windows.
Staircase
Display your Christmas stockings on the handrail of your staircase. Wrap green garland or fake snow around the railing to create a whimsical holiday scene.
Bookshelf
Sometimes a bookshelf is all you need to hang your Christmas stockings. Use stocking holders to hang them from your bookshelf. Incorporate other Christmas accessories, like ornaments, on your bookshelf to go along with the stockings.
Blanket Ladder
The decorative ladder you use to display your throw blankets can also double as a Christmas stocking holder. Place your ladder next to your Chrtismas tree and hang your Christmas stockings from each ladder step.
Bed Frame
Hanging Christmas stockings on a bed frame is a great way to spread the holiday decorations around the house instead of just keeping it in the living room and on the Christmas tree. You can hang the stockings next to the head board or along the foot of the bed frame.
