Transform Your Child’s Room Into a Teenager’s Dream
Transforming your kid’s room into a teen’s room is bittersweet. It’s time to put away the stuffed animals and toy cars and replace them with a desk and a chair and a wall of photos of them and their friends. Take this moment to learn what your teenager likes now and incorporate that in their new bedroom décor. Don’t hog all the fun, ask your teen to help with organizing and decorating their new room. Here are a few tips on how to revamp your kids room into a teenager’s dream.
*Team Effort
Work together with your teen when redesigning their room. They’ll take more ownership of their space if they also get to make decisions on the decorations. Have them help with the decluttering and organizing. This is a chance to teach them how to clean and organize their room.
*Design an easy storage solution.
Create an easy and effective storage solution for your teen that doesn’t require too much thinking, sorting, and folding. Large bins with covers, hooks on walls, and shelves, are easy to sort through and navigate without much effort.
*Get the right desk and chair.
The right desk and chair is important for your teen’s bedroom. Try not to bombard the desk with too many distractions and keep it a simple and ergonomic working space for homework and study. Don’t forget the lighting! Include a task desk lamp for those long nights of studying.
*Create a lounging area.
A small and simple seating area, a soft area rug, and throw pillows are all cozy accessories you can incorporate in your teen’s bedroom. A lounging area shouldn’t take much space and they give your teen a place to relax with some friends.
*Fresh paint for a new chapter.
Applying a fresh coat of paint on the walls can make any room feel and look good as new. Painting the walls a new color is also a great project for you and your teen to work on together. Grab a bucket of paint, brushes, and blue tape and get to work!
