How to Host a Spectacular Fourth of July Party
Hosting a Fourth of July party can be one of the easiest and most fun holidays to celebrate. You don’t have to plan a fancy sit down dinner or worry if you have enough room in the oven to cook a turkey and all the sides. You don’t need to spend big money on fun decorations because you can find great patriotic themed decorations at the dollar store. Most Fourth of July parties are held outdoors around a grill or fire pit, meals are typically simple and easy to prepare, and there’s games, drinks, and fireworks. Just in case you think you’re missing something for your party, here are 5 things you need to host a spectacular Fourth of July party.
The traditional red, white, and blue party decorations never get old, especially since it’s only once a year. Stars and stripes are also a must for every Fourth of July party.
Besides music, plan a few outdoor games for your party. Cornhole, wine bottle ring toss, bean bag toss, firework pinata, the options are endless. These are also great games to keep for future summer BBQs.
Most likely your Fourth of July party will be an outdoor backyard event so don’t worry about fitting everyone around your dining table, but at least make sure that your guests have a place to sit. Lawn chairs, camping chairs, and picnic benches are basically all you need, but if you don’t have enough, ask family or friends if they have a couple of folding chairs that they can bring to the party or shop new outdoor furniture here.
Make a fun alcoholic or nonalcoholic beverage that has red white or blue in it. Put blueberries and strawberries in your ice cold water dispenser or make ahead an easy to pour blue or red cocktail.
Keep your meals simple and easy for your Fourth of July party. You don’t want to miss out on the outdoor games because you’re too busy prepping or cleaning up in the kitchen. You can also have a potluck and ask your guests to bring delicious Fourth of July themed appetizers and desserts.
